A friend bought me the book when she left. I started it but for reasons, I didn’t finish it. Now i feel i should.
We didn’t give up our dreams or our ambitions when we had kids, but we did give up the right to be wholly selfish. We have other people, other priorities to consider now. It’s not that we’re tied down, it’s that we’re rooted, we are balanced out. We can make better decisions now–decisions not just for ourselves but for the whole family.
Between teaching and family. It’s a lot right now. At work from 7:30-5:30. Walk in the door and then Lyra walks out the door.
As, I’ve said before I’m definitely a better teacher because I’m a parent but damn if it isn’t hard sometimes.

I definitely think I’d recover sooner from general cold, viruses etc if I didn’t have kids. The additional stress has to be a factor.

We Can Be Heroes is the follow up film to Sharkboy and Lavagirl, which I haven’t watched, but Elise and I watched it this morning in bed.
It was terrible I thought but Eise LOVED it. With that said, I was happy to watch so it can’t have been that bad. Decent cast too! 🎬
Twenty minute walk

Not feeling overwhelmed today. A strange feeling. The metaphor i had in mind was that I was forcing myself to step back from a downward slope. So instead of gathering speed, I’m standing still.
Another early, short walk. This time listening to to Alt-J. It’s not 7am and I have been up for two hours. This will not last. I am enjoying it though.
Forgot my laptop at work. Can’t do any work now. Gutted.
Faster than last October by nearly two minutes somehow. Awesome.
